Vacation Bible School 2025: Why Every Child Should Attend

At Bethel Baptist Church in Ellicott City, MD, we’re thrilled to invite children from Ellicott City, Dunloggin, Autumn Hill, and Wheatfield Way to our 2025 Vacation Bible School, Magnified! Running from July 14–18, 6:00 PM–8:30 PM, this week-long adventure is designed for kids entering kindergarten through 5th grade. Held at 4261 Bethel Overlook, Ellicott City, MD 21043, VBS 2025 will inspire kids to proclaim the greatness of God while building friendships and growing in faith. Here’s why every child should join us for this unforgettable experience:

Our 2025 VBS theme, Magnified!, encourages kids to look closely at the details of God’s incredible world and magnify His greatness. Through engaging Bible stories, kids will learn that God created them, cares about every detail of their lives, and remains faithful to His promises. From the design of their fingerprints to the number of hairs on their head, children will discover how much God loves them and why they were made to magnify Him!

2. Immersive Learning Through God’s Truth

VBS at Bethel Baptist is a fun, hands-on way for kids to dive deep into God’s unchanging truth. Each session includes interactive Bible lessons that teach children to speak the truth in love. Whether exploring stories of God’s faithfulness or Jesus’ love, kids will leave with a stronger understanding of why everyone needs Him in their lives. As one VBS leader noted, “VBS is where I found God for the first time at about 7 years old through fun games and laughter” (Lifeway VBS).

3. Exciting Activities for Every Child

Get ready for a whirlwind of fun! From crafts to music to high-energy games, every evening is packed with activities that spark joy and discovery. Kids might create a craft that reflects God’s creation, like a ladybug on a leaf, or sing songs that celebrate His love. These activities are designed to engage all learners—visual, auditory, and kinesthetic—ensuring every child has a blast while growing spiritually.

4. Building Friendships and Community

VBS is a place where kids can make new friends and feel part of a welcoming community. Through small group activities and shared experiences, children will connect with peers and caring volunteers from our Ellicott City congregation. These friendships often extend beyond the week, fostering a sense of belonging in our church and neighborhoods like Dunloggin, Autumn Hill, and Wheatfield Way. With 12.5 hours of discipleship over five evenings, VBS offers a powerful opportunity to plant seeds of faith that can grow for a lifetime.
